The complete vetting process typically takes 2-3 weeks, depending on how quickly we receive your DBS check results. We aim to respond to initial applications within 5 working days.
Formal teaching qualifications (like PGCE) are not required, but they are a plus. We assess your ability to teach during the mock lesson stage. Many of our successful tutors are university students or recent graduates with a passion for maths.
Tutors are paid weekly via bank transfer. Your earnings depend on your hourly rate (£25-75/hr) and the number of hours you teach. You set your own availability and can increase or decrease hours as needed.
Absolutely! Many of our tutors work part-time alongside other commitments. We ask for a minimum of 5 hours per week to ensure you can build meaningful relationships with your students, but beyond that, your schedule is entirely flexible.
Tutors are responsible for arranging their own Enhanced DBS check (typically £40-60 via the DBS Update Service). We will guide you through the process. If you already have a valid Enhanced DBS check from another organisation, we may be able to accept that depending on its age and type.
